Privacy Policy
Michigan Liquors is a neighborhood liquor store in the Brookland neighborhood of Washington, DC. This website is an online catalog of what we carry. It is not a store. You cannot create an account, add anything to a cart, or pay for anything here, so there is very little about you for us to collect in the first place. This policy explains the little there is.
Information we collect
We do not ask you to register, and we do not operate accounts, passwords, profiles, wish lists, or saved carts. We do not knowingly collect your name, address, date of birth, or payment details anywhere on this site, because nothing on the site asks for them.
Like any website, our hosting provider records ordinary technical information when your browser requests a page, such as the page requested, the time of the request, your browser type, and your IP address. This is used to serve the site and to diagnose problems.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand which pages people visit and how quickly those pages load. These tools are designed to measure traffic without identifying individual visitors: they do not set advertising cookies and they do not build a profile of you across other websites. We use what they report to decide what to stock and what to fix, and nothing else.
Age verification
The first time you visit, the site asks you to confirm that you are 21 or older. Your answer is saved in your own browser's local storage so that you are not asked again on every page. That entry stays on your device, is never sent to us, and disappears if you clear your browser data.
Cookies
We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking, and we do not run an affiliate program or host third-party ads. If your browser blocks cookies, the site still works normally.
Contacting us and the Request an Item form
If you email us, call us, or use the Request an Item form, we receive whatever you choose to tell us and we use it only to answer you. When you submit the Request an Item form, the details you typed are sent to our store inbox as an email through Resend, the service that delivers mail for this site. We do not keep a database of requests. The email sits in our inbox like any other message, and your reply address is used only to write back to you about what you asked for.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your contact information, we do not share it with marketing partners, and we do not run a newsletter or mailing list.
Product images and information
Some bottle images and product details on this site come from public product databases keyed to a product's UPC. Loading them involves no information about you.
Links to other sites
This site links to outside pages, including maps, our social media accounts, and producer websites. Once you follow a link, you are on someone else's site under someone else's privacy policy, and we have no control over what they collect.
Visitors under 21
This site is intended for adults of legal drinking age. If you are under 21, please do not use this site or send us your information. We do not sell alcohol to anyone under 21, and valid photo identification is required for every purchase in the store.
Requests about your information
Because we do not maintain accounts or customer records through this website, there is generally no stored personal information for us to look up, correct, or delete. If you have emailed us and would like that correspondence removed, write to info@michiganliquors.com and we will take care of it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this site handles information, we will update this page. Because the site collects so little, we expect changes to be rare.
